Never in a million years did I ever think I would be a Vegan. A year ago - nope, scratch that even just a week ago, if you would have told me that I'd be giving up all animal products I would have scoffed at you with a mouthful of cheese - but here I am and I think it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.
I'm not going to fall into the Vegan stereotype and start trying to convince you to choose the lifestyle too but just in case you're interested or for any other newbie Vegans this is what I've bought over the weekend to convert my kitchen.
I haven't included the RIDICULOUS amount of fruit and vegetables I've bought but to name a few; bananas, apples, strawberries, peaches, pomegranates, broccoli, green beans, carrots, spring onions, red onions, kale, spinach, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, aubergine and corn on the cob. Yes, my kitchen does look like an insanely organised green grocers.
This haul is much more focused on replacing things that I can't eat anymore so I hope that explains the random assortment. Everything has been based on an abundance of recommendations from all over the internet although it has been extremely difficult to find UK specific information but anyway, here's what I got.
Asda
Nakd snacks
Agave nectar
Vegetable stock pots
Tesco
Alpro soy milk (chocolate and original)
Vegan cheese(s)
Hummus stacks
Oatly oat milk
Amazon
Really vegan mayo
Almond Butter
Ogran no egg (egg replacement)
Engevita savoury yeast
Free & Easy 3 bean chilli
Crisps
Vegan lemon biscuits
Free & Easy Cheese Sauce
Chia Seeds
I also bought some other bits and pieces like; rice noodles, brown & white rice, tofu, alpro yogurt, porridge oats, lentils, an obscene amount of pasta, kidney/black eye/pinto beans and pizza bases that, in all honesty, I just ran out of room to include but they were all from Asda and I'd highly recommend them.
Do you find this kind of post interesting? What have you been cooking recently?
If you're Vegan and have any recommendations of places to shop or what to buy please let me know! I'd be eternally grateful.

I forever want to try Chia Seeds as I have heard of the benefits but the texture when they're added to moisture seriously gets me!! Need to man up and try it I think haha xx

I don't think I'll be going Vegan any day soon but I do enjoy eating vegan foods. I'm a bit nosy so I enjoy reading posts about what other people are eating and cooking :)
