I have no idea if this will be interesting or not but you'll never know unless you try right? I'm going to be starting a 'What I Did Today' series although they won't all be what I've actually done today but more than likely over the past couple of days but you know what I mean. In all honesty this is essentially Instagram just with more descriptive captions. If you don't like this, or you do, please let me know and I'll do another one or pretend it never happened. Enjoy! (or don't).
Last Saturday me and my boyfriend were given tickets to a play in Picadilly Circus which gave me a great opportunity to convince him to do some shopping in London at the same time. Despite living in London, and literally 20 minutes away from Covent Garden, we really don't venture in all that much. If I had my way we'd be there all the time but my boyfriend takes some real persuading. Who doesn't want to be dragged around all day to take pictures and look at make up?! Nope, I don't get it either but apparently he doesn't. The first stop was coffee which wasn't pictured (not by choice, I do love a good coffee Instagram) but I had a soy vanilla latte to keep you in the loop.
Second stop was Lush. Arguably my favourite place in the world but I won't get into that right now.
I picked up a few old favourites and a couple of newbies but I'll be doing a haul some time this week so you can have a look at that if you want to! While I was in there I realised the appreciation I have for Lush staff. Could you imagine being that upbeat all day? I couldn't do it. If I worked there I would definitely have throw a bath bomb at someone by now. So if you do work at Lush, well done. Your uninhibited, albeit understandably fake, joy is greatly respected. At least you must smell incredible right?
After a few unavoidable snaps of Liberty (and their flowers) we headed to Topshop to finally try some vegan cupcakes from Lola's Cupcakes.
They were the most delicious thing I have ever put in my mouth and feel free to take that however you want - It's the truth. We picked up 12 and I'm not ashamed to tell you after 2 days there are 4 left. Yes I did have 2 for breakfast.
On the walk from Oxford Street to Picadilly Circus I popped into The Body Shop which I've been meaning to go in to for ages. I didn't buy anything I had on my mental wishlist but I did get the lightening and darkening drops and I am so excited to use them. I'll try to get a review up as soon as possible but if you've already tried them, let me know what you think! I'm sure similar things like this have existed in the beauty world before but it seems like such an ingenious product and I'm desperately wishing that they're good, I'll be sure to let you know.
I don't know if I chose to be a vegan in the middle of the movement's revolution but it seems like I can't swing a cat without it hitting a vegan. Probably not a very vegan thing to do to swing a cat but I mean it purely metaphorically I promise. I honestly have no idea if I'm just more aware of it now that I notice it more but veganism really does seem to be popping up everywhere. I really try to keep the vegan topic on the down low on my blog as I would never want to come across preachy, abrasive or judgemental but I really do wholeheartedly stand behind it. If you want to, please have a look into it. It's fascinating and so beneficial for a bunch of reasons and it's worth the time to read up about it even just a little bit. I would recommend watching Gary Yourofsky's speech since that's what got to me so deeply but delve into it in whatever way you want to, again, if you want to.
And that's the last time I will ever talk about it. Unless I post a recipe. Or someone asks me about it. But that's it!
The play was a comedy about a bank robbery which is so aptly named and it was ok. I did laugh (really hard) at moments but most of the humour just wasn't for me. The actors were great though and they preformed wonderfully.
Next we walked back up to Soho to visit a place that's been on my to-do list since I became a vegan. Mildred's is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant tucked away in Soho and it is delicious. Even if I wasn't a vegan the burrito I had would still be the best bloody burrito I've ever had in my life and I've had a lot of burritos. The cocktails were equally as delicious and if I wasn't so full from burritos and cupcakes I could have happily downed a fair few of them. They have gluten free options of pretty much everything too and it's all super reasonably priced, especially for London, so if you're ever in Soho and stuck for food choices, try here and if you hate it, I'll buy you a cocktail.
And finally on the walk back to the station I managed to sneak in a couple of shops and finally pick up 'Bond Girl' from Charlotte Tilbury that I've wanted for an eternity. I also got her new mascara, Legendary Lashes, aaaaand picked up an extra one for one of you! Watch this space.
What did you think of this post? Is it boring, is it interesting?
Let me know!
What did you get up to this weekend? Did anyone finish watching the new season of Orange Is The New Black? (I spent all of yesterday binge watching all 13 episodes, it's so good!)

I like the idea of a WIDT series, it's kind of like a vlog but in photo and written form and I enjoyed reading it! I've never heard of Mildred's before, and even though I'm not a complete vegetarian, I love finding veggie/vegan restaurants so will definitely be giving this place a visit when I'm next in Soho! The food and cocktails sound delicious and I'm also lusting after Bond Girl from Charlotte Tilbury :) x

Thanks so much Charlotte! I promise you will love Mildred's and seriously get the god damn burrito - it's SO GOOD hahah. xxx
DeleteI love Lush just as the next person, and wow your photos are great. That Charlotte Tilbury Shop looks so dreamy! Where I live, there is only a Sephora (which is still amazing), but I would love to see brands opening stores like this here. Sounds like such a nice day :)
