Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick - Red Carpet Red

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick (Red Carpet Red) £23 - link

Charlotte Tilbury seems to have blown up in the beauty world with her incredibly beautiful packaging and products that everyone seems to be raving about. Having finally got my hands on one I'm happy to report that they really are as good as people say.

First of all lets get the slightly more critical things out the way. The finish is not matte but velvet at best. It's a really creamy formula which is an absolute delight to apply and wear but subsequently leaves a subtle shine. Also because it is that creamy texture it means that it does transfer and fade relatively quickly, it didn't last throughout a meal at all and had disappeared almost completely, but, without eating or drinking it held it's own for around 3 hours before it began to move from the center of my lips and fade around the edges. A lot of those issues though could be resolved with coating your lips in a lip liner of your choice before applying and when I did, it significantly helped to decrease the signs of fading and gave me a bit of extra time before running off to find a mirror.
Although the positive to come from the formula is that the finish gives the lips dimension and that is a refreshing change from how flat other matte lipsticks tend to leave your lips looking.

The shade itself is a blue toned red. It's beautiful and I can imagine that most people could wear this colour and it would look wondeful on them.  In comparison to Ruby Woo in terms of colour it's deeper and definitely more noticeably has blue undertones. The bullet, or the straight edge part of the bullet more specifically, makes applying this fool proof which I think is a really great and helpful design feature.

For £23 it has to be down to personal preference of finishes, shades and how much you love pretty packaging as to whether you're going to be adding any to your collection. I would like to try a couple more shades if I can overcome my annoying habit of being overly picky but only time will tell. I'll probably be adding a couple to Christmas list anyway - just in case.

Have you tried any of the matte revolution lipsticks?
Are there any products from Charlotte Tilbury that you want to try? (if you need some inspiration, I did a wishlist post that you can have a look at here).
