MAC Retro Matte Lipstick - Dangerous

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick (Dangerous) - link

When it comes to picking a red lipstick I almost always go for that classic 1920's red. It's only been recently that I've fallen in love with vampy, more plum toned reds and even more recently that vibrant and more orange toned shades have found their way into my collection.

Dangerous is a vibrant medium to deep orange with strong red undertones. It's a matte finish (clearly) and has the retro matte title for a reason. It's much more of a traditional MAC matte finish meaning it's a very dry formula and relatively uncomfortable to wear. It drags on application and takes a fair amount of pressure to get the ball rolling but after a little elbow grease it's completely opaque and stays put for around 5 hours, leaving a faint stain on the lips as it fades.

What shade of red lipstick do you prefer? Have you tried any of MAC's retro mattes?
