The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops

These have revolutionised my life. Potentially a little dramatic but for reals, these are bloody great.

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops £10 each

I'm sure most of us know how much of a pain in the ass buying foundation online is. I always, without fail, end up getting the wrong shade. Fortunately, this is no longer a problem thanks to The Body Shop.

The lighter shade is a pale, cool, pink toned shade that will change your life. It is so perfect to counteract that orangey tinge foundations can give you if they're too dark. It's also equally as great to use mixed in with your fave concealer to highlight your face, although it does flash back in pictures so be careful when you use it!

The darker shade I do like but not as much. The shade is a neutral brown perhaps leaning slightly more on the cool side but if over used it can make your foundation slightly grey. Not cute. Not one bit. It does still work but I would much prefer to use a bronzer to warm up my face. It works very well however, as a contour. A little goes a long way (seriously) but the cool tone makes it wonderful to recreate and define that natural shadow.

As for how I use them, I mix them on the back of my hand one drop at a time while testing the shade with a small swipe on my jaw line until I have the right shade. I've tried mixing them in a palette but it noticeably works better on your hand. I think the warmth aids in them mixing together much more flawlessly even if it does end up with you wasting a little bit of product.

I really like these. I think they're a great concept and have made my online shopping binges so much easier. Definitely go and pick up the lighter shade and maybe give the darker one a test in store before you spend your pennies.

Have you tried these? What do you think of them?

  4. I really need to get the lightening drops! I love the sound of them and I've got a foundation I need to use up but is too dark for me, so if I can get these to change it that will be great. Thanks for reminding me about them!

  5. It's such the opposite for me - I have tanner(ish) skin so my foundation looks too light a lot of the time - but your description of it sounds like the lighter drops are far better.... I should test check the darker one in store haha!

  6. I have always wanted to try the darker adjusting drop because I have a few foundations which are too light for me. However as you've said that it's more of a cool brown I might have to reconsider as I have a yellowish undertone to my skin! Might not look that great haha

  7. Most foundation tend to be too light on me, so I was really hoping this'd work. But, yeah, it has gray-ish tint, and bronzer works better.

  8. I bought the darkening drops but haven't gotten the chance to use it yet because I haven't got much of a tan, haha! I hope, if I do get to use it, I don't look grey.. That wouldn't be pretty. Great review! :)
