MAC Lipstick - Kinda Sexy

Another day, another Mac lipstick. I said on Instagram a couple of days ago that it's one of my life goals to own every single matte lipstick from Mac and I am deadly serious. Thanks to this one I'm 17 down and still goin' strong!

Kinda Sexy is a medium rosy pink shade with light warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. I'm feeling a little more inspired as of late to be more creative with my face and although this isn't exactly an "out there" colour, it's definitely out of my comfort zone. I gravitate to reds more than anything and if I'm in a particularly wild mood, I'll opt for a brown toned nude but a pink is almost unheard of. It seems weird that I feel more comfortable in a bright red lip than I do with a pretty standard pink shade but hey ho - that's just how it is!

The finish is in between a satin and a matte. It's a creamy formula that applies beautifully and although it does dry to some extent it never really sets. It does apply a little unevenly but another layer in and you're good to go. It fades evenly and doesn't leave a stain so feel free to demolish a big ol' bowl of pasta in the knowledge that this won't be patchy or smudged all over your face afterwards. Without eating etc it lasted around 4 hours on me before disappearing entirely.

I can't see me reaching for this very much at all in the next few months, especially as I've already started stocking up on berry tones and burgundy shades but I'm glad I have this in my collection. It makes for a nice alternative to everything else in my collection.
