Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette

swatches from L - R; charmer, jetsetter, rocker, smokeshow, flower child, smarty pants, firecracker, activist, funny girl, sweetheart, rebel, leader.

Charmer - A pale, lightly warm toned beige with a matte finish. The texture is soft and silky but it's slightly on the powdery side. It didn't have much fall out during application though and lasted for around 6 hours.

Jetsetter - A medium brown with strong yellow undertones. This is super soft and blends like a dream. It has a matte finish, great pigmentation and wore for 7 hours.

Rocker - A frosted taupe shade with warm tones. The shimmer within this shadow is beautiful although it's slightly dryer in consistency than the other shades. It lasted for 6-7 hours.

Smokeshow - A deep black brown shade with a matte finish and cool undertones. It's still silky in texture like the other shades but it's noticeably thinner and it has a tendency to apply patchy. It was also a little harder to blend too. It wore for around 5 hours on me.

Flower Child - A light peach shade with warm undertones and a matte finish. Like Charmer it's somewhat powdery which you might be able to tell from the swatch but it has good colour pay off and it lasted 6 hours.

Smarty Pants - A medium brown with obvious warm and orange tones. This is very similar in texture to Smokeshow where it's soft and silky but obviously thinner so, again, it can apply patchy and sheer out quite dramatically. The pigmentation is still there but it's difficult to get the full effect of it without it almost disappearing when you're blending it. It lasted 4-5 hours on me before it vanished entirely.

Firecracker - A medium-dark bronze shade with warm undertones and golden frosted finish. It's smooth and creamy, wonderfully pigmented and is one of my favourite shades in this palette. The finish is beautiful and it wears for around 7 hours.

Activist - A deepened red brown shade with mostly cool undertones and a matte finish. This palette has struggled a little bit with the darker matte shades being too thin and patchy but this one actually seemed to preform a bit better. It blended much easier and lasted a little longer at 6 hours.

Funny Girl - A gold shade with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It feels buttery and smooth and applies and blends wonderfully. It has great pigmentation and an even greater finish and it lasted for 7 hours.

Sweetheart - A muted peachy/orange shade with a warm undertones and a matte finish. This unfortunately is quite dry and powdery and stubborn to blend. It sheered out quite a bit on me too and is only a shade I use as a transition colour because trying to get the pigment to show up is almost impossible. It wore for 4 (ish) hours on me.

Rebel - A medium-dark red brown with strong warm undertones. It's soft and buttery, blends well and has a lovely colour pay off. It wore for 7 hours.

Leader - A blackened plum shade with warm, brown tones and a matte finish. Again, this is thin and dry in consistency. It almost doesn't blend at all and really sticks in the same place it was first applied. It does work well as a liner though but I'd highly recommend using it with a primer regardless of how you use it. It lasted for around 6 hours.

This palette is gorgeous but some of the matte shades definitely need some work. I love the idea of having a mostly matte palette as they're the shadows I tend to gravitate towards anyway but so many of them are so difficult to blend and are super patchy or sheer out completely. I'm still happy to have this palette in my collection as I love all the shades and especially that most of them are warmer in tone but I was a little disappointed with the quality.

Have you tried any of Tarte's eye shadows? What eye shadow palettes have you been using recently?
