Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Like you most probably have I've heard a lot about this foundation. It was everywhere a couple of months ago and, as always, I waited until the hype had died down before I actually caved and added it to my foundation mountain that has started forming.

This foundation claims to have full coverage and yet still remain lightweight and undetectable. Personally, I have never experienced those two phrases married in one sentence. As far as I was concerned that literally couldn't exist but I was most definitely proved wrong.

The texture is creamy and somewhat runny, much like the Nars Sheer Glow, but applied to the face it blends wonderfully into full to medium coverage without feeling heavy or uncomfortable and miraculously, still allows your skin to look like skin. I've avoided full coverage foundations for as long as I can remember because they tend to take the dimension out of your face and the life out of your skin but again this surprised me by not only leaving your skin looking as life like as it normally does, but it also adds radiance which is super rare to find in a foundation with this level of coverage. It lasted ages and was still just as flawless when I went to remove it 7 hours later. It is oil free which makes it a nice option for those with oily skin and although it isn't the greatest foundation for oil control I've ever used I still think it did a pretty damn good job, especially when you take into account how natural the finish is for a full coverage foundation. The finish is demi matte/satin, the shade selection is great (mine is Porcelain if you were wondering) and I'm just all round impressed with every detail of this foundation.

If you were sceptical about this like I was, believe the hype ladies, this foundation is incredible.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I have waited forever and an eternity for this to be in stock. After hearing so much hype about it, albeit around a year ago now, I couldn't wait to try it.

I'm happy to report that this mascara is unbelievable. Obviously mascaras are very personal and everyone is looking for something different, but this mascara ticks all the right boxes for me.
The brush is huge and made up of a bristles which ticks boxes and 1 and 2. The brushes' shape coats that lashes evenly although does clump them at the root. That's usually how I wear my mascara anyway as I prefer a fuller look but I know it's  not appreciated by everyone. It lengthens lashes dramatically and adds a tonne of volume after just one coat. It is buildable but you absolutely have to let the first coat dry otherwise you're going to be left with some seriously spidery lashes.

Apart from the name being a bit of an overstatement I really love this mascara. I think it is totally worth the hype and I'd recommend trying it if you haven't already!

Too Faced LashGasm Mascara

After months of trying to get my hands on the Better Than Sex mascara (it's sold out everywhere - all the time) I finally settled on this one as my first Too Faced mascara. The packaging is lovely and the formula seems ok but I'm not a huge fan of plastic wands at the best of times and this mascara just further convinces me that they're not for me. I'd heard a lot of positive things about all of the mascaras from Too Faced so I didn't really put much thought into what one to buy in replacement of the Better Than Sex so that's why I bought this one. Unfortunately.

While it's pretty good for separating the lashes it doesn't pick up much product at all so trying to get any volume or thickness with this wand is practically impossible. It does add some length which is good but really not very much compared to other mascaras that cost only £2 or £3 more or actually even £10 less. Having said that the length and separation make for a minimal, natural 'fluttery lashes' look that can be nice but not what I'm personally looking for in a mascara. I am a little disappointed that I bought this truth be told although, luckily, it was in the sale so I didn't spend the whole £18. I must say that it does, however, work really well on my lower lashes so I'm happy to keep and use it for that - at least that's something anyway.

I still hold hope for the Better Than Sex mascara because it does have the bristle wand that I'm oh so fond of and there will be a review on that whenever I finally get the chance to buy it!
