Battle Of The Brows - Gimme Brow vs Archery Brow Gel

When I saw that Soap & Glory released a fibre brow gel I hoped that it could be a dupe for the beloved Gimme Brow by Benefit. To find a dupe at a whole £10 cheaper would be lovely (even if the new Benefit packaging is worth £18 even without the product) but I don't think they are even comparable.

The Archery gel is a far wetter formula. The brush picks up a lot of product and ultimately leaves you with crispy brows which is never a good thing. If you apply it with and extremely light hand it does provide some colour, fullness and a serious amount of hold. It's not a horrible product at all but the Gimme Brow is a much more tailored and perfected version.

The Gimme Brow has a drier formula with much more obvious fibres. It provides a much fuller look with almost the same colour pay off but the holding power leaves much to be desired. In that respect the hold is the only reason I would choose the Soap and Glory version.

I think both are equal as stand alone brow products but the Archery does need a little more finesse in application. The Gimme Brow is popular for a reason. It's cult status is deserved and unfortunately the Archery gel just isn't in the same league.

Have you tried either of these? What's your favourite brow products?

    1. The pencil is brilliant! The standard pencil and the felt tip are both great but the brow gel - not so much! xxx

  3. Would you say the S&G one is more like the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper? I find that quite wet and it can leave my brows crispy if I go too heavy handed. I love my Gimme Brow so I'll stick with that :) x

    1. Absolutely! Like I said it's not bad it just requires a little more work than the Gimme Brow. It still does the job! xxx

  5. Thank you so much for this review. I'm still on the search for a great brow product, and it seems like you really favour the Gimme Brow. I've been on and off about certain products, including some Anastasia palettes, and am yet to find that perfect product! x

    1. I would highly recommend most ABH products. The brow wiz is a long term favourite of mine along with the dipbrow but if it's more natural enhancement you're looking for something like the Gimme Brow is perfect. xxx
