Nail Favourites #5

I am seriously loving nude & neutrals nails at the moment especially with an accent nail or two. Since the sun has made an appearance in London I've been leaning more towards brighter and paler shades in my collection and I have been constantly swapping between Mademoiselle and Lilacism. Both are beautiful, fresh bright shades (obviously by Essie) that are perfect for this time of year.

Rock At The Top is one of my most used nail polishes. I'm a complete sucker for glitter nails and my recent addiction to all things gold has meant that I've been using this even more. It's such a lovely top coat to add a little something to your nails and even better packed on as much as possible, or at least that's how I like to wear it.

If you have any suggestions for any nude or neutral polishes from any brand I would love to hear them. I'm always on the look out for more to add to my collection even if I am running out of places to store them.

What have you been wearing on your nails recently?

Nail Favourites #4

Models Own Utopia £5 - Topshop Exhibit  £5 - Essie Chinchilly £7.99 - Essie Lilacism £7.99

Can you tell I'm in a nude mood? I always find that I make my way through my collection and without fail end up back at the neutral shades. They're easy to wear, go with everything and suit any season or situation. Got a job interview? Party? Staying in your pyjamas all day? Neutrals are the way to go.

Utopia by Model's Own, which I don't think they make anymore but I found it on a random website, is my all time favourite. It's a beautiful grey nude with a hint of pink. The formula of Model's Own polishes is wonderful and even a shade as light as this one only needs one coat.

As always there are some Essie appearances in this round of nail favourites. They make up half of my collection so it's no surprise you'll see one in pretty much every installment. Chinchilly, I believe, has already made it's way into one of these posts but I'm loving it all over again. It's a taupe/grey shade and one that I come back to all the time. Lilacism is (can you guess?) a lilac shade. It's a pretty pastel colour that may be more suited to Spring but I think looks great any time of year. I currently have it on my toes.

And finally a Topshop nail varnish in Exhibit. It's a deep red wine colour and a good old, stereotypical Autumn/Winter shade. I don't know what the difference in formulas is between this packaging and the original packaging but the formula with this black lid is incredible. It applies beautifully, is super glossy and lasts ages without chipping. If you're in a store (I couldn't find it anywhere online) and you see one of these nail polishes with this lid, buy it immeadiately.

What colour makes up most of your nail varnish collection? What's your favourite Essie shade?

Nail Favourites #2

Rimmel Salon Pro, Rock n Roll £4.49 -  link
Leighton Denny Maneater £11 - link
Maybelline Color Show, Sidewalk Strut £2.99 - link
Essie, Bahama Mama £7.99 - link

Bahama Mama is one I come back to all the time. It's a berry shade that looks gorgeous, especially in Autumn although I do wish that Essie polishes weren't so streaky - it drives me insane but it is something I'll begrudgingly overlook because of their colour selection. You can't beat Essie if you're looking for variety in your nail varnish collection.

As for the rest of the shades, they're pretty season neutral with a black from Leighton Denny, a good old red from Rimmel and a classic taupe nude from Maybelline. The formulas of all three are lovely and apply evenly and opaque in one coat. Maneater from Leighton Denny coming in at £11 is a pretty hefty price tag for a plain black nail varnish that I probably won't repurchase but I do love the formula.

If you haven't got any Maybelline color show nail polishes I would highly recommend having a look. They're one of the best formulas I've ever tried and at £2.99 I think they're pretty darn great.

What nail varnishes have you been loving? Do you have a shade that you always wear around this time of year?

Nail Favourites #1

L - R: Essie (Chinchilly), Topshop (Keepin' It Sweet) N/A, Nails Inc (St James), American Apparel (Office) N/A

My name is Aimey and I'm addicted to nail varnish. I have way too many for only 10 nails which means that I paint my nails all the time. Doing that though means I find some really lovely shades and formulas that I thought I'd share with you.

Essie - Chinchilly
Who doesn't love a good old nude? This one is more on the taupe kind of things and absolutely perfect for Autumn, but then again nudes can carry you through all the seasons. The formula is lovely although Essie polishes can be a bit of a hit and miss. This is one of my all time favourites and a colour that I come back to time and time again.

Topshop - Keepin' It Sweet
Pink polishes usually aren't my thing but I had this on my toes throughout Summer and it looked lovely. I don't see Topshop nail varnishes in the beauty world very often and I have no idea why. I'm a huge fan of Topshop beauty in general and I think their nail products are wonderful. They have a great selection, every one with a wonderful formula that doesn't chip at all (that could be down to my trusty Seche Vite though).

Nail Inc - St James
A gorgeous classic red. I've had to stop myself buying this exact shade in the new packaging because it's so beautiful but at £15 each, I don't think I'll be doubling up any time soon. Nails Inc formulas and colours are incredible and they're one of my top nail varnish brands, they've yet to disappoint me.

American Apparel - Office
I can't find these polishes anywhere online at all. I bought this and a couple of other shades in a store a few months ago but they seem to have vanished since then. The formula is nice, it applies opaque and there are no streaks in sight. I also really love the packaging and that the bottles are significantly bigger than your average. I have no idea how much these were but at a guess I think they're around £8. If you do ever have the chance to buy any, I'd recommend having a look - the colour selection is great and they are really lovely nail varnishes.

What are your nail favourites? Can you recommend any for Autumn?
